The Toronto native, who’s known online as ‘IISuperwomanII‘, told her nearly 14.5 million subscribers that she’ll be taking a step back from the social media platform because she’s “mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually exhausted.”

“I’ve been doing YouTube consistently for eight years,” Singh explains in the video titled “I’ll see you soon…”

“I love it, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s been a lot,” she continues. “I haven’t been super happy with a lot of the content I’ve created.”

Singh also admits that she doesn’t fully understand YouTube’s current culture, which she says has changed over the years.

“You know, the thing about YouTube is that, in all of its glory, it kind of is a machine. And it makes creators believe that we have to pump out content consistently, even at the cost of our life and our mental health and our happiness because if you don’t, then you’ll become irrelevant,” Singh says.

She also expresses that she feels that some of the content she makes is “because I think I have to on this platform that demands constant content, but it’s not really a reflection of me.”

Although the 30-year-old isn’t leaving the video platform permanently, she says she has yet to decide exactly when she’ll return.
