Migos brought the swag and a bag full of cash to James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” on Tuesday night’s episode of “The Late Late Show”.
The rap trio – Quavo, Offset and Takeoff – cruised around Los Angeles, not only jamming out to their biggest hits “Walk It Talk It” and “Bad and Boujee,” but also treating viewers to a powerful rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”.
Corden later asked the group if they thought they could bring the Migos vibe to any song, and when they said yes, he encouraged them to add their trademark ad libs to Neil Diamond’s classic “Sweet Caroline. The result sounded surprisingly fresh.
The late-night host also apologized for destroying the dab, the popular dance move originated by Migos. “I feel slightly responsible, as I think many dads in their late 30s/early 40s do, where I feel like I might have ruined it,” Corden said. “And so I apologize for the destruction of the dab.”
Apology accepted, the foursome continued to rock out, while Offset started pulling stacks of cash out of a bag on the backseat. “I have never ever in my life seen this much cash,” Corden said as he stopped the car so he could count it. There was $210,000 in total, and that was just Offset’s money.
Migos used that cash to take Corden clothes shopping and buy him some “drip.” It took a while to find an outfit he felt comfortable in, but as Migos taught him, it’s all about attitude. Seeing Corden swagger around in a silver blazer and Elton John-style sunglasses is certainly a sight to behold.
