It’s been three months since Ronan Farrow’s blockbuster expose on Les Moonves, and two months since the former CBS chairman resigned, with wife Julie Chen departing “The Talk” shortly after.
The passing of those few weeks, however, has apparently emboldened Sharon Osbourne to share some recollections of the disgraced Hollywood heavyweight that are less than flattering.
Chatting with Jim Norton and Sam Roberts on SiriusXM’s “Jim and Sam Show”, Osbourne jokes about one aspect of Moonves that she won’t be missing: his breath.
“I think he had bad breath, if I remember,” quips Osbourne. “Oh, yeah. You could smell him coming. I think he had a bit of gingivitis, if I remember,” she continues. “I’m like, did you suck fish for breakfast?…It was all that masturbating.”
However, Osbourne insists that despite everything that took place, she still considers Chen a friend. “I respect Julie too much, you know? And she’ll probably hear this and hate me, but I’ve got to tell the truth,” adds Osbourne. “I love Julie. Julie’s the best. And her marriage is her marriage.”
Osbourne also shares her reaction to the first time her former co-host referred to herself as “Julie Chen Moonves” on the air.
“Stand by your maaaan,” she sings. “Everybody went, “S**t!” I was like, ‘What did she just say?’ Hey, listen, she must love that little guy! She loves him!”
Osbourne admits that she hasn’t kept in touch with Chen since she left “The Talk”, opening up about how difficult the situation was for the “Big Brother” host as her husband was being investigated for sexual misconduct.
“I haven’t spoken to Julie in forever,” she says. “It’s really, really tough on her. When they were doing the investigation, I think that every female employee through CBS got a letter from the people that are doing the investigation for the company, to say ‘Have you ever had any inappropriate meetings with him? Has he ever been inappropriate with you?’ And then you’ve got to go in there every day.”
