Model and actress Kim Porter has passed away at age 47.
The longtime partner of Sean “Diddy” Combs, she and the rap mogul share three children from their 13-year relationship.
TMZ was the first to report on Porter’s death. She was said to be found dead in her home in Toluca Lake on Thursday, with emergency dispatch audio obtained by TMZ indicating Porter was in cardiac arrest at the time of the call.
“A source connected to Kim tells us she’d been suffering flu-like symptoms, and possibly pneumonia, for several weeks, but it’s still unclear what exactly caused her death,” states TMZ. “Another source says Kim had contacted her doctor just yesterday complaining she wasn’t feeling any better.”
Meanwhile, LAPD Officer Jeff Lee issued a statement to Us Weekly to “confirm that there is an investigation underway in the 10300 block of Woodbridge. That call came out at 11:38 this morning. And there is a female deceased at the scene. We are sending our homicide detectives over there to find out whether or not foul play was involved.”
In addition, NBC LA reporter Robert Kovacik tweeted a photo from Porter’s home, stating that a coroner is at the home along with LAPD detectives.
Porter and Combs began dating in 1994, splitting and getting back together several times until breaking up for good in 2007.
“Sadly, I can confirm the passing of Kim Porter,” Combs’ rep, Cindi Berger, tells TMZ. “I ask that you give the families privacy at this time.”
Porter was the mother of four children. In addition to her children with Combs — twin girls Jessie James and D’Lila, born in 2006, and son Christian Combs, born in 1998 — Porter is also survived by son Quincy, from an earlier relationship with R&B singer Al B. Sure.
