We got our first look at the new holiday adventure movie “The Christmas Chronicles” trailer; now we’re getting another taste of the new Netflix film, giving audiences a closer look at the charismatic Santa Claus and lovable children.
Produced by Chris Columbus (“Home Alone”) and directed by Clay Kaytis (“The Angry Birds Movie”), the Netflix synopsis reads, “The Christmas Chronicles tells the story of sister and brother, Kate (Darby Camp) and Teddy Pierce (Judah Lewis), whose Christmas Eve plan to catch Santa Claus (Kurt Russell) on camera turns into an unexpected journey that most kids could only dream about.”
In the new featurette released by Netflix, Kurt Russell (a.k.a. the rugged and hilarious Jolly Ol’ St. Nick) reveals, “They do much more than catch Santa Claus, they actually help him save Christmas itself.”
Producer Columbus says the key to the movie is “finding the child within you, finding that thing that made you believe so strongly.”

Following the announcement of the film, director Clay Kaytis discusses how well-suited Kurt Russell is to play Santa Claus.
“From our first meeting, he completely threw himself into this iconic role — and grew an impressive beard in the process.”
Kaytis adds, “It has been a dream come true to work with Kurt in creating what I believe will be the new definition of Santa Claus for generations to come.”
“The Christmas Chronicles” will be released globally on Netflix Nov. 22.
