Kim Kardashian donates a whopping $500,000 to the firefighters and relief funds helping victims of the devastating California wildfires during an appearance on Wednesday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”.

The 38-year-old tells DeGeneres, 60, how her family hired private firefighters to protect their entire neighbourhood from danger.

Kardashian admits, “We’re still not in our home now because the smoke smell is too intense. We were lucky, we’re blessed.”

On behalf of Kanye West, Yeezy, and Adidas, the reality TV star then announces they are donating $200,000 to the California Fire Foundation and an additional $200,000 to California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund.

Later in the show, Kardashian and DeGeneres then welcome firefighter Michael Williams and his wife Lisa from Oak Park, California, who lost their home in the Woolsey fire.

Michael and Lisa get incredibly emotional as they talk about their decision to stay home and their daring escape as the fires rapidly destroyed their neighbourhood.
