Jennifer Lopez Talks Life Had She Stayed In The Bronx: ‘I Just Didn’t Have The Right Resume’

Jennifer Lopez revealed her life could have easily not ended up the way that it has as she chatted on Australian TV program “The Project” Thursday evening.

The 49-year-old has been busy promoting her new film “Second Act” and was asked about her character, Maya, 40, who harboured unfulfilled dreams before bagging her dream role on Madison Avenue.

Lopez explained, “This is a super-competitive business — I understand what it is to not have all the education that everyone else has.

“This movie hit home for me. I grew up like Maya did — out in the boroughs, no fancy education, trying to find my way into the city, and my route to success.

“I love playing this character. It’s what I imagine I would be if I stayed in the Bronx. I was ambitious and [talented] — I just didn’t have the right resume.”

Lopez’s interview comes after she released her new song “Limitless”, which was written by Sia. The track will also feature in the upcoming flick, which hits theatres on Dec. 21.
