Michael Buble is ready to celebrate love.
Speaking with ET Canada’s Roz Weston in promotion of his eighth studio album Love, the 43-year-old Canadian-born crooner opens up about his loud, love-filled home life with three young children: Noah, 5; Eli, 3; and Vida, 4-months-old.
“It is crazy. I’ve got a beautiful 4-month old baby,” he says, noting that his daughter Vida is a “healthy, little, gorgeous thing.”
Buble adds, “And I’ve got two boys. Eli, who’s 3, and Noah, who’s 5, and they just beat the s**t out of each other.”
Opening up about his life as a father, Buble explains, “You have this dream of becoming a parent,” adding, “and you think you’re going to create these beautiful little people and you will rule them […] And then you realize you are not the ruler.”
In 2016, Buble took a step away from the spotlight to be with his family after his son Noah was diagnosed with liver cancer. However, in 2018, his son’s cancer is in remission and the singer is back to work promoting his new album celebrating love.
“I’ve been given this wonderful opportunity in my life,” the singer says. “And to have gone through hard things and to know that other people are going through hard things. And to be able to bring joy and peace and healing […] My joy in life is to embrace that now and to just put it out there.”
When it comes to album sales, Buble says he “couldn’t obsess less” and that it was Ed Sheeran who revealed to him how his album is doing.
“I found out my record is doing okay,” he explains. “And, you know, I found out because I opened up my email and Ed Sheeran wrote me this e-mail telling me how my record is doing.”
He continues, “According to Ed Sheeran, the record is doing really good and, of course, that made me happy.”
In addition to his list of famous friends, Buble also opened up about the time he met Meghan Markle before she became the Duchess of Sussex, revealing that he met the former “Suits” star while having dinner with friends in Toronto.
“She was really sweet and lovely,” he recalls. “And months later, I was walking through a Safeway in America and I saw her picture on all these magazines and I recognized the picture. I was like, ‘I know this person. Why do I know this person?’ And then she was a princess.”
