Less than two weeks after losing part of his Malibu home to the raging California wildfires, Gerard Butler journeyed to Haiti on a humanitarian mission, and shared video of his experience on social media.
“What an eventful couple of weeks,” the “300” star wrote on Facebook to accompany a video (below). ” Been cheered up to no end by these beautiful souls who despite living in a country that has gone through so much hardship, have nothing but love to give. A real lesson for me right now.”
As Butler explained, he’s in Haiti on behalf of Mary’s Meals (which feeds children in their schools), with Butler “visiting schools to see the wonderful work they do… It’s such a simple idea that works really well.
