Chris Martin may be the frontman for Coldplay but there was always another group he wanted to be a part of.
On Friday, the official Twitter account for Britain’s Take That shared a video featuring Martin decked out in a leather vest, bow tie, and sunglasses auditioning in the grass for a spot in the group.
Martin shows off his best Take That dance moves in the video before explaining, “30 years on, I’m still auditioning, and I’m waiting to hear from my favourite boy band of all time, Take That, and they never call me. But I’m never gonna give up.”
The video is a tribute ahead of Take That’s 30th anniversary; earlier in the day, they posted a tribute from the “Princess of Pop” Kylie Minogue.
On Friday, Take That also released their new album Odyssey.
Take That originally formed in 1989, with members Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen, and former members Jason Orange and Robbie Williams.
After breaking up in 1996, the group got back together in 2005. Orange left again in 2014, and Williams joined for a brief stint from 2010 to 2012.
