Listen up, because ET Canada’s Rick Campanelli has just signed on for an exciting new radio gig, joining Toronto radio station 102.1 the Edge’s morning show alongside “Fearless” Fred Kennedy and Mel Mariani, weekdays from 5:30 to 9 a.m.
“Rick has his finger on the pulse of music and pop culture, making him a perfect fit for our station,” said Edge program director Ross MacLeod in the announcement. “This dynamic group of personalities will have listeners looking forward to weekday mornings.”
While viewers of ET Canada watch him each weekday hosting Canada’s Entertainment Powerhouse along with Cheryl Hickey, Roz Weston and Sangita Patel, Campanelli burst on the Canadian media scene back in 1994 as a MuchMusic VJ before joining ET Canada, and has most recently served as host of Food Network Canada’s The Incredible Food Race.
“I’ve been a huge fan of the Edge my whole life,”; added Campanelli. “This is definitely a dream come true – even if I have to sit beside Fred every morning. It’s a good thing Mel is in the room too!”;
Rick will continue to maintain his co-hosting duties on ET Canada; Toronto-area listeners will also be able to hear him each weekday morning when he starts his new gig on Monday, June 27.
