After rumours emerged that Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra would be heading to the altar before the end of the year, it appears the recently engaged couple’s wedding may be coming up even sooner than expected.
According to numerous sources — including the Times of India — Jonas and Chopra arrived in Mumbai, India, on Monday, with the nuptials to take place in the city of Jodhpur. In fact, the Times reports the wedding ceremony will be held on Dec. 2, which explains all the pre-wedding celebrations in which the couple has engaged in recent days.
In fact, the Times also reports that Jonas’ brother, Joe Jonas, has also arrived in Mumbai, accompanied by fiancee Sophie Turner (“Game of Thrones”).
Meanwhile, the social media accounts of Bollywood studio Roy Kapur Films (for which Chopra is starring in the yet-to-be-released film “The Sky is Pink”) shared photos from one of the pre-wedding celebrations, complete with a congratulatory chocolate cake and a popping champagne bottle:
According to E! News, the festivities are just getting started. Still to come are a Mehndi party and a Christian ceremony celebrating Jonas’ faith.
While things seem to be moving fast, this is apparently par for the course for the “Quantico” star, 36, and the former Jonas Brothers singer, 26. As a source recently told ET, the the couple’s relationship started fast and never lost speed.
“Since day one, Priyanka and Nick have clicked and have never taken their relationship slow,” said the source. “The couple got engaged two months after dating, they’ve met each other’s families and had a bridal shower and bachelorette party in a very short period of time. For Priyanka and Nick, they know that they love one another and are going to be married, so they don’t see the appeal in waiting too long.”
