Coldplay Drop New Music Under A Different Name

Coldplay have dropped a brand new track under the name Los Unidades.

The band teamed up with Pharrell Williams to release “E-Lo”, which is taken off the Global Citizen EP.

The group’s record label, Parlophone, had been teasing their new signing “Los Unidades” on Twitter. However, social media users were quick to point out that the pic the account had been sharing looked remarkably similar to the “Yellow” hitmakers.

Parlophone posted:

Fan account ColdplayXtra then did some digging, announcing online that the owners of Los Unidades were actually listed as Chris Martin, Jon Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion.

Coldplay fans also noticed that the text in the bottom right of the poster, reading Y02LPAC81ODL, was an anagram of COLDPLAY2018.

The post comes after friend and collaborator of the band Mat Whitecross told NME to expect new Coldplay music in the new year.

He explained, “They’re on a sabbatical at the moment so they’ve been ruthlessly on holiday for a year.

“They’ve never done that before. I don’t know if you can call Chris a workaholic because he loves what he does; he’s in and out of the studio writing three or four songs a day.

“This year, they decided to take off. They haven’t been doing anything as far as I know but they do have plans for next year. However, I’ve not been party to them.”
