Kim Cattrall has said time and time again that she’s not up for doing “Sex and the City 3”; now, a source has revealed the “real reason” she turned the offer down.
Cattrall, 62, who played Samantha Jones in the much-loved series, allegedly said no to the film because of a disappointing storyline.
E! News have now reported that Cattrall was not impressed with the fact that the film would have included her receiving saucy pictures from Miranda’s (Cynthia Nixon) 14-year-old son, Brady.
The insider explained, “Kim never wanted to really do the movie to begin with. It was a combination of not great money and a bad storyline for Samantha. It was a bad script.”
The site added that Samantha’s “main storyline” would have revolved around Brady getting caught masturbating early on in the film and eventually sending “d**k pics” to Cattrall’s character.
The comments come after most of the “SATC” stars recently gave interviews as part of the “Origins” podcast.
Cattrall’s rep told ET Canada when asked if the E! News claims were true: “No – she hasn’t participated in the podcast or any press around it. Sorry.”
Executive producer Michael Patrick King recently dished the dirt on that Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker feud during his appearance on the podcast.
He told how Cattrall also had a problem with the fact that Mr. Big (Chris Noth) was going to die of a heart attack early on in the film. This would, therefore, make the remainder of the film more about how Carrie recovered from Big’s death than about the relationship between the four women.
