With a leading role in the award-winning film “Mad Max: Fury Road”; – nominated in the Best Picture Oscar category – and an Oscar nomination for his supporting role in “The Revenant”;, it’s no doubt Tom Hardy is having a great year. But, it may have just gotten that much better for the actor.

Starting today, audiences are getting an exclusive look at “Taboo”;, the new drama television series produced by Hardy himself alongside “The Martian”; director Ridley Scott and Steve Knight. Directed by Kristoffer Nyholm, “Taboo”; is an original story by Hardy and his father Chips Hardy, produced for FX and BBC.
The eight-episode drama series is set in 1814 and follows James Keziah Delaney, a man who has been to the ends of the earth and comes back irrevocably changed. Delaney, played by Hardy, returns home to London from Africa to reclaim what is left of his father’s shipping empire and rebuild a life for himself. But, in the process, he must battle lurking enemies and run from his own death sentence.

“Taboo”; is bound to be a great mystery show with hints of conspiracy, love and betrayal.
“Taboo”; is currently anticipated to air in 2017.
