Doesn’t a parent deserve a little “me” time after nurturing another living, breathing human for 19 years?
Kate Beckinsale was in her late 20s when she and Michael Sheen welcomed their daughter Lily. Now, she is considering having more. The 45-year-old “Pearl Harbor” and “Serendipity” actress opened up to Tatler about what is next for her now that Lily is all grown up.
“I definitely would [consider more children], but then I think, Oh God, I annihilated my 20s and I suddenly get a taste of freedom and annihilate myself again?” she asked herself. “But I am open to seeing what happens.”
Though she is now having a little fun, Beckinsale admits she was voted “sixth-most boring person” in college.
“I didn’t like drinking vodka out of a welly,” she revealed. “In fact, I didn’t drink at all, which meant there was no real chance of getting into my knickers — so what was the point of me? I was deeply unpopular.”
The actress was in a long-term partnership with Sheen before marrying and later divorcing director Len Wiseman in 2016. Recently, she has been spotted with British comedian Jack Whitehall.
Nevertheless, Beckinsale’s No. 1 priority is herself: “When you get divorced, everybody waits to see where you land. But I might not land anywhere for a bit. I’m really quite happy: It’s quite nice to have a bit of Virginia Woolf time.”
Beckinsale is set to star in the comedy “El Tonto” with Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis, Edie Falco, and John Malkovich, as well as Guy Ritchie’s new crime drama “Toff Guys”, opposite Matthew McConaughey and Hugh Grant.
