Chris Evans Wants ‘Avengers’ Co-Star Robert Downey Jr To Host Oscars

The 91st Academy Awards are just a few months away, and while the host of the ceremony still hasn’t been named, Chris Evans has an incredible suggestion.

When Erik Anderson, the owner of, asked Twitter whom they would like to see preside over the upcoming awards show, people started posting their suggestions, including Captain America himself, who picked his “Avengers” co-star Robert Downey Jr.

There were many who agreed with Evans’ choice, including Jamie Lee Curtis:

Fans had lots of other options too: Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ellen DeGeneres, Michelle Wolf, and the comedic duo of Nick Kroll and John Mulaney. One person even suggested having no host at all.

The long-running ceremony has been presented by late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel for the past two years.
