Speaking about how spot-on the film was in terms of portraying live entertainment, Brooks noted: “Whoever had their hands on the wheel — and I’m thinking it’s Miss Gaga, actually — it was authentic as hell.”

The 56-year-old revealed that Gaga attended the Chicago stop of his most recent tour. “You just sit there and stare at her…she’s beautiful, she’s talented, she’s everything you want her to be.”

The feelings are mutual, as Gaga professed her love for Garth long before she made a splash on the big screen. While promoting her album Joanne in 2016, she revealed to Rolling Stone that he is one of her all-time favourite country artists.

“When I was little, my father used to play ‘I’ve Got Friends in Low Places’ really loud in the basement,” she said of his 1990 hit. “I’d catch him down there dancing by himself, screaming real loud. I thought it was cool.”
