There is no fun in being honoured without a little roast on the side.
Sean Penn was tasked with speaking about Bradley Cooper, the latter of whom was honoured with the American Cinematheque Award Thursday night.
Penn told the audience something felt oddly familiar about the evening, as seen in a video posted by TMZ. After acknowledging Cooper, the “A Star is Born” actor greeted “Mr. Penn” from the audience.
Penn then pointed to the big screen which aired a clip from Penn on “Inside the Actors Studio” nearly 20-years-ago.
A blonde, long-locked Cooper asked Penn a question about “Hurlyburly” more than a decade ago. The scene was slightly edited to depict a disappointed Penn facepalming, where in reality he answered Cooper’s question almost immediately.
Penn later praised the “handsome motherf**ker” Cooper. Other stars who spoke on Cooper’s success were Lady Gaga, Ed Helms, Jennifer Garner and Zach Galifianakis.
