Grammys 2019 Nominations Announcement Pushed Back Following Death Of Former President George H.W. Bush

The 2019 Grammy Awards nominations announcement has been rescheduled, it’s been revealed.

The noms were originally set to be released Wednesday but will now be unveiled Friday due to George H.W. Bush’s funeral and public viewing, the Associated Press reported.

The former president passed away on Friday aged 94. There will be a state funeral at Washington’s National Cathedral on Wednesday before a private service to be held in Houston a day later.

A selection of Grammy nominees will be unveiled on “CBS This Morning” and Apple Music at 8.30 a.m. ET Friday, with a full list of nominations being available on the Grammys’ official website at 8.45 a.m. 2019’s ceremony will take place on Feb. 10 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Nominations for the 2019 Golden Globes will be unveiled Thursday.

The latest news comes after Michelle Obama cancelled a couple of dates on her book tour to pay her respects to Bush.

On Saturday, the former first lady shared a touching Twitter tribute to the 41st president, declaring the late politician to be “an extraordinary example for all of us.”
