Hilarie Burton proved to be a great friend this week when she came to the defense of Diane Kruger who was mom-shamed on Twitter.
As first reported by Us Weekly, Kruger recently gave birth to her first child with partner Norman Reedus, and while the majority of her fans sent well wishes, a few people slammed “The Bridge” actress after a photo was released of her enjoying a drink.
In a now “protected” tweet, one Twitter commenter sent a message to Burton and her husband Jeffrey Dean Morgan, urging them to warn Kruger that she shouldn’t be drinking alcohol due to breastfeeding.
Burton was quick to respond, telling the “fan” that she should be “ashamed” of herself.
Morgan, who co-stars with Kruger’s partner, Reedus, on “The Walking Dead”, also sent a tweet, backing up his wife.
It wasn’t only Burton’s husband cheering her on, many fans offered their support as well.
“Couldn’t have said it any better
@HilarieBurton …some of these accounts are created just to say things like this,” one Twitter user wrote.
Another said: “Hilarie… Can you be my friend? You’re sooooo awesome!!!!!! I would love to have a friend like you. I like Diane too! Some people are just plain jealous of her so they spew hate. It’s a sad world we live in.”
And one fan wrote: “You, my dear Hilarie, are top-notch. More women should take from your example of supporting each other. Well done.”
