‘Walking Dead’ Star Jeffrey Dean Morgan Adopts Loved-Up Donkey And Emu After They Refuse To Be Separated

“Walking Dead” actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan proved he’s nothing like his villainous on-screen character as he recently adopted an emu and a donkey because they’d formed an adorable bond.

Morgan, 52, and his wife Hilarie Burton, 36, announced they were taking home Jack the donkey and Diane the emu after the pair’s “love story” captured people’s attention around the world.

Morgan will keep the animals on his New York farm after they were found abandoned on a farm in Kershaw, South Carolina.

The actor took to Twitter to say that he’d give the duo a “forever home” last month, with Carolina Waterfowl Rescue then sharing an update on Facebook on Tuesday.

Jennifer Gordon, founder of the nonprofit organization, told the Charlotte Observer that Jack and Diane, named after the famous John Mellencamp song, could not be separated.

She said of the loved-up animals: “They like to cuddle and even sleep together. We can’t separate them. Where one goes, the other follows.”

Rescuers previously said the donkey “started crying” when they tried to separate him from the emu, adding Diane also “got frantic.”
