Sophie Turner is not one to hold her tongue on social media and she’s now slammed a publication for suggesting Nick Jonas’ marriage to Priyanka Chopra could be fake.
Turner, 22, who is engaged to Nick’s brother Joe Jonas, 29, attended the much-talked about wedding in India over the weekend.
She then took to Twitter Wednesday to re-post The Cut‘s article, which posed the question: “Is Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ love for real?”
The “Game of Thrones” actress wrote, “This is wildly inappropriate and totally disgusting. Very disappointed that The Cut would give anyone a platform to spew such bulls**t.”
Joe Jonas added:
The publication have since removed the article and apologized, posting:
Turner’s comments come after Chopra, 36, and Jonas, 26, said their “I dos” at the five-star Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, throwing a Christian ceremony on Saturday before having an Indian wedding a day later.
Following backlash, the author of the controversial piece, Mariah Smith, tweeted an apology to the newlyweds, “and to the readers I offended with my words,” adding that she does “not condone racism, xenophobia, or sexism.”
The Cut retweeted Smith’s apology, acknowledging its role in publishing the offending article.
Chopra then told People: “Every girl dreams of being a princess on her wedding day. But I never had a plan about what I wanted it to be.
“It melted my heart. Being able to have two big weddings, in India, with our closest family and friends was unbelievably special.”
