Animal-lover Ellen DeGeneres can’t resist giving Natalie Portman some dog advice as the actress appears on her show Wednesday.
Portman, 37, shows DeGeneres, 60, an adorable pic of Penny the puppy, before she admits the pet is not very well trained.
As the star says she still “poops inside,” DeGeneres insists: “That’s horrible! How do you not train a dog within a year?” to which Portman protests: “I tried!”
Keen to get her point across, the talk-show host continues, “No, I don’t think you have. There’s no way you tried. That’s ridiculous! Poor Penny,” as Portman insists: “She mostly goes outside.”
DeGeneres quips, “That means she knows that she should, you’re not taking her out often enough. That’s why you’re here, for me to yell at you about your dog!”
After finally ending the puppy chat, Portman goes on to talk about her latest film “Vox Lux”, admitting she channelled Madonna in the musical numbers.
The flick tells the tale of Celeste, a 13-year-old music prodigy who survives a horrific school shooting in Staten Island, New York, in 1999.
Portman admits, “It was a kid dream of mine, singing Madonna in front of a mirror with a hairbrush.”
