It’s a clash of the queens in the brand new “Mary Queen of Scots” trailer.
In the final trailer for the historical drama, Mary Stuart (Saoirse Ronan) attempts to overthrow her cousin Elizabeth I (Margot Robbie), Queen of England, to reclaim her rightful throne.
Robbie and Ronan are joined by a superb ensemble cast in the the Josie Rourke-directed film including Gemma Chan, Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, David Tennant, Jack Lowden, Brendan Coyle, Martin Compston, Ismael Cruz Cordova and James McArdle.
Robbie shared what it was like on set of the period film, telling Australia’s “Today”, “I could barely move my face because there was so much prosthetics. It’s glued-down plastic on your face,” explained Robbie, 28, of the prosthetic makeup that reportedly took three hours each morning to apply.”
And she also got a taste of what it was like for women dressing conservatively at the time: “The clothes were very restrictive, as they were at the time. It helped — I felt claustrophobic, I felt trapped.”
