Kim Kardashian seems to have some misinformation.
The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star tried to defend her husband Kanye West in a new episode of the reality television series.
Kardashian, 38, insists West’s infamous comments about slavery being a “choice” were twisted. “Kanye’s slavery comment, he never said that,” the model insisted. “If you listen to what he said, he said ‘slavery was 400 years [ago]. If it’s going to be another 400 years, that sounds like a choice to me.'”
The only problem is, the rapper never alluded to “another 400 years of slavery.” In May, he told TMZ Live: “When you hear about slavery for 400 years, for 400 years? That sounds like a choice. Like, you were there for 400 years and it’s all of y’all?”
Kardashian also spoke with former publicist Jonathan Cheben and marketing executive Simon Huck on “KUWTK”. The latter argued West’s words were “edited” to make his comments seem worse than they were. TMZ later argued “the [conversation] is rife with falsehoods… it was not edited.”
“Kim can have whatever interpretation she wants of Kanye’s words. We get that,” TMZ concluded. “But, to say we edited him or misquoted him… is a lie.”
