Meghan Markle opted out of seeing a West End performance of Meatloaf’s “Bat Out Of Hell” with husband Prince Harry in London on Thursday night.
The Duke received a standing ovation when he treaded the boards on stage after thanking the theatre crowd for coming to the show.
The show was held in aid of Harry’s annual Invictus Games. According to the Daily Mail, once Harry joined the cast on stage he joked that he really wanted to jump on and “rev” the prop motorcycle when he saw it.
The outlet reports, the royal also spoke with athletes including Lieutenant Richard Gray, a serving naval officer, who participated in the recent Invictus Sydney Games.
While she didn’t join Harry on Thursday night, Markle was in attendance at the gala performance of “Hamilton” earlier this year in aid of Harry’s charity Sentebale.
Markle is currently expecting the couple’s first child and is due in the spring of 2019. The Duke and Duchess revealed the happy news in October before heading to Sydney for their first Royal Tour Down Under. S
