Enchanted star Amy Adams gets candid in the April issue of British GQ about her inside knowledge of the gender pay gap for which Hollywood is repeatedly under fire.

The 41-year-old cites her role in David O. Russell’s American Hustle, saying she knew she was getting paid less than her male co-stars, but admits that you “have to decide if it’s worth it for you.”;

In the interview, Adams adds that she hasn’t spoken about the issue before because she doesn’t always agree with “people who had opinions on how women should go about negotiating.”;

She continues: “The truth is we hire people to negotiate on our behalf, men and women …. I knew I was being paid less and I still agreed to do it because the option comes down to do it or don’t do it. So you just have to decide if it’s worth it for you. It doesn’t mean I liked it.”

The Big Eyes star explains that working with Russell on the set of American Hustle left her “devastated”; most days.

“I mean, not every day, but most. Jennifer [Lawrence] doesn’t take any of it on. She’s Teflon. And I am not Teflon,”; she says. “But I also don’t like to see other people treated badly. It’s not OK with me. Life to me is more important than movies.”
