By Rachel West.

Get ready to see Earth like you’ve never seen it before.

Jennifer Lawrence takes viewers aboard the International Space Station for a unique vantage point of the planet in the IMAX 3D cinematic space adventure, A Beautiful Planet, which lands in theatres April 29.

The Oscar-winning actress narrates this unique look at planet Earth as the film explores our changes to secure the future of our home. Filmed aboard the International Space Station, A Beautiful Planet strives to develop a deeper connection between ourselves and the Earth with an increased understanding of our universe and the role we play within it.

“The best part of being an astronaut is looking back at our home planet,” one astronaut says as he floats high above the Earth in the spectacularly-designed ecosystem, built to sustain a crew of astronauts from around the world. “It’s just overwhelmingly beautiful.”

IMAX has teamed up with Walt Disney Studios for this incredible look at the universe from filmmaker Toni Myers. Myers has been editing, writing, and directing films specifically tailored to IMAX screens since 1971, most recently with 2010’s Hubble 3D.

“Toni has crafted a remarkable film that uniquely captures the raw beauty of our planet,”; said Greg Foster, CEO of IMAX Entertainment. “In collaboration with our long-time friends at Disney, we’re so excited to bring the entertaining and creative A Beautiful Planet to IMAX audiences during Earth Month, making it a one-of-a-kind celebration and appreciation of the place we call home.”;

Thanks to digital photography, Myers is able to bring this unique perspective to IMAX screens, capturing lightning storms and low-light nighttime shots of vibrantly lit cities across the Earth’s surface while documenting life in space for the international crew.

Narrator Lawrence will head into space later this year in the sci-fi thriller Passengers, opposite Chris Pratt. The movie, from The Imitation Game director Morten Tyldum, is about a spacecraft transporting thousands of people to a distant colony planet when a malfunction in the sleep-hibernation chambers results in two passengers – Lawrence and Pratt – awakening 60 years ahead of schedule.
