After teasing his new music video for “Good Guy”, the latest single from Eminem’s Kamikaze album, on Thursday, fans are reeling over the finished product revealed on Friday afternoon.
In the video, Canadian singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez, who brought us the hit “Figures”, is seen digging her way out of her own grave after appearing to be buried alive, before making her way to Eminem’s mansion.
Reyez’s character enters the kitchen just as Slim Shady is about to enjoy a bowl of cereal, but the rapper’s breakfast is cut short when the pair engage in a fistfight that turns deadly when she grabs a knife and thrusts it into his abdomen.
Shocked and bleeding, Eminem makes his way up the staircase as Reyez follows, ultimately catapulting herself into him and sending them both careening through a second-storey window, landing on the concrete outside with a thud.
Reyez then drags Eminem’s corpse to the same grave she dug herself out of, snuggling up next to the body in the video’s super-creepy coda.
So how exactly did Eminem’s collab with Reyez come about? He explains how he first became aware of her in a recent interview featured below.
