IGN has given fans a first look at the upcoming “Sonic the Hedgehog” movie ahead of its November 2019 release date.

The beloved character definitely looks more human-like than the 1991 version, with fans sharing their opinions on the recently released poster.

The pic comes after the film’s executive producer Tim Miller spoke about the new and improved Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz).

He shared of giving the character fur, according to ComicBookMovie.com: “That was always Stage 1 of adapting it to what the real world is and what a real animal would be like.

“It would be weird and it would feel like he was running around nude if he was some sort of otter-like thing. It was always, for us, fur, and we never considered anything different. It’s part of what integrates him into the real world and makes him a real creature.”

The eagerly anticipated flick tells the tale of “a cop in the rural town of Green Hills who helps Sonic escape from the government who is looking to capture him.”
