Sean Hayes appeared to throw some shade at Madonna as he chatted to James Corden on Monday’s “Late Late Show”.

Hayes was asked about the A-list celebs to have guest starred on “Will & Grace”, with him telling Corden: “Because it’s the gay show you get Cher, Jennifer Lopez and Madonna.

“To see them in person for the first time is so amazing and thrilling.”

There have been rumours floating around that Madonna didn’t know the actors’ names when she starred in the 2003 episode “Dolls and Dolls” as a woman named Liz.

Hayes, who had a fake grin plastered on his face when asked about the “Like A Virgin” hitmaker, told the talk-show host: “She was really interesting.”

He then added, “She was great. She was really great. She was terrific,” before insisting: “Period.”
