Christian Bale Talks Meeting Donald Trump: ‘I Think He Thought I Was Bruce Wayne’

Christian Bale spoke about the time he met Donald Trump as he chatted with Variety to promote his latest film “Vice”.

Bale, 44, who plays former U.S. vice-president Dick Cheney in the upcoming flick, said he met the now-president when he was filming 2011’s “The Dark Knight Rises” at Trump Tower.

The actor shared, “He said, ‘Come on up to the office.’

“I think he thought I was Bruce Wayne because I was dressed as Bruce Wayne. So he talked to me like I was Bruce Wayne and I just went along with it, really.

“It was quite entertaining. I had no idea at the time that he would think about running for president.

“And this story [‘Vice’], you know, is part of how we got to be here with that… ‘individual number 1’ being president.”

Bale also discussed constantly gaining and losing weight for movie roles, insisting he went to see a nutritionist for the first time before he piled on the pounds to play Cheney.

“I did decide, You know what, I might die, so maybe I should go to see someone who actually knows what they’re talking about instead of just winging it, which is what I’ve always done.”
