Michael Rapaport had no clue how Pete Davidson was feeling when he dissed him on Twitter.

Rapaport, 48, mocked Davidson and fellow celebrity Kanye West for “whining” on social media. Little did he know Davidson had posted on Instagram about his mental health and thoughts of suicide.

“Pete Davidson and Kanye must really not have homeboys, for real,” Rapaport wrote in a since-deleted tweet. “These are two whiney a** b**ching a** social media babies.”

Rapaport also took down on camera impressions he did of Davidson and West. He apologized on Saturday after learning about Davidson’s Instagram note.

“[I] didn’t realize Pete Davidson posted an actual genuinely scary Instagram note,” Rapaport tweeted Saturday. “Had no clue. [I] was not informed of all of those details. [I] would never mock someone when they’re truly down. Sincerely. I thought this was all the daily normal gossip of the day and [I] was doing my daily take.”

While some fans are understanding of Rapaport’s comedic approach, others criticized him for not doing more research before making such remarks.
