Ed Sheeran Tops Pollstar’s 2018 Global Touring Chart, Raking In $432.4 Million In Gross Sales

What a “Perfect” way to cap off 2018.

According to Variety, Ed Sheeran’s “÷” world tour has topped Pollstar’s year-end global touring chart. The concert industry’s premiere trade publication reports that Sheeran performed for “more than 4.8 million fans” throughout the past 12 months, raking in a record-breaking gross revenue of $432.4 million.

When combined with his 2017 numbers, this particular tour of the “Shape Of You” singer’s has already become the third-highest grossing in Pollstar’s history. The $554.6 million total puts him only behind two other UK acts – The Rolling Stones, whose “A Bigger Bang” tour brought in $558 million globally, and U2, whose “360” tour still holds strong in the top spot with a $735 million worldwide gross.

Rounding out the top three for 2018 are Taylor Swift’s “Reputation” stadium tour – which topped the U.S. tour chart – with $345.1 million, along with Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s “OTRII” tour, which grossed $254.1 million thanks to stops throughout North America and Europe.

It’s also worth noting that Swift’s and Sheeran’s combined sales of $777.5 million “comprise 14 per cent of the overall gross of the Top 100 Worldwide Tours.”
