Three of Hollywood’s youngest stars — Zendaya, Willow Smith, and Kiernan Shipka — take the cover of W Magazine‘s April issue where the bright young things talk fashion, personal inspirations, and Barbies.
“After my Oscar moment, Mattel contacted us. They specifically wanted to make a Barbie that looked like me, in my exact outfit from the Oscars. I was so excited that Barbie wanted to diversify their brand,” Zendaya said about her special-edition Barbie. “Now all little girls can have a Barbie that looks like them. My Barbie is in a box. I never let anyone touch her.”
The moment was a lesson in the power of fashion for the Disney actress, who has gone on to see her star rise with every red carpet appearance since.

And it’s a similar message “Mad Men” actress Kieran Shipka also picked up while filming on her 1960s-based drama. “Mad Men introduced me to the power of fashion,” she explained. “I realized that style could tell a story.”
15-year-old Willow Smith, meanwhile, reveals that she draws inspiration for her eccentric outfits from her fashion idol and mother Jada. “When she was on tour with Ozzfest, she was very raunchy. I loved watching her onstage,” the newly-minted Chanel ambassador said. “I think the first song that ever made an impression on me was my mom performing ‘Bleed All Over Me.’ I would sing it over and over.”
Despite all being under the age of 20, the stars were able to pay tribute to the late David Bowie in three moving renditions of his iconic song “Changes.”
