Natalie Portman gave an update on that Jessica Simpson “feud” during an appearance on Tuesday’s “Watch What Happens Live”.
Portman, 37, recently told Entertainment Tonight that she “would never intend to shame anybody” after Simpson, 38, called her out over some comments she made about seeing her in a bikini.
Portman was said to have told USA Today that she was “confused” as a teen after seeing Simpson on the cover of a magazine in a bikini with the cover line, “I’m a virgin.”
After Simpson said she was “disappointed” in a lengthy Instagram post, Portman then addressed the whole thing on “WWHL”.
The “Black Swan” star told Andy Cohen she has “only respect and good feelings” for Simpson.
She insisted, “I think there’s no need for beef between women. We’re all in the same society and living with the same pressures and we’re allies.”
Portman’s “WWHL” appearance also saw her discuss the Jar Jar Binks controversy after Ahmed Best received furious backlash from “Star Wars” fans.
She insisted of the actor, “He is so talented and so wonderful and I was very angry that they said bad things about him.”
Best played the role between 1999-2005 and admitted on Twitter over the summer that the criticism was so bad at one point he considered taking his own life.
