“The Simpsons” producer Al Jean paid tribute to the late Penny Marshall — the show’s first-ever guest star — after she passed away Monday at age 75.
The actress appeared on the first season of the show in the 1990s, playing Ms. Botz (a.k.a. The Babysitter Bandit) in an episode titled “Some Enchanted Evening”.
Marshall’s character robs the Simpson family after being hired to look after the kids but Homer ends up letting her escape.
Showrunner Al Jean told the Hollywood Reporter of Marshall as tributes poured in online: “I met her a few times, which were all enjoyable but can’t say I knew her well.
“The people who knew her well thought she was terrific; talented and nice.”

Animator David Silverman, who has worked on the show since Day 1, added:
The comments come after Marshall’s family released a statement to ET Canada: “Our family is heartbroken over the passing of Penny Marshall. Penny was a tomboy who loved sports, doing puzzles of any kind, drinking milk and Pepsi together and being with her family.
“Penny was a girl from the Bronx, who came out West, put a cursive ‘L’ on her sweater and transformed herself into a Hollywood success story. We hope her life continues to inspire others to spend time with family, work hard, and make all of their dreams come true.”
