Fans may have reason to be hopeful about the future of Marvel’s Defenders.
Netflix cancelled “Daredevil”, “Iron Fist” and “Luke Cage” this year, but the fans have speculated that the Marvel heroes may find a home on Disney’s highly anticipated new streaming service.
Speaking about the Disney+ service with The Hollywood Reporter, Disney exec Kevin Mayer said of reviving the shows, “They are very high-quality shows. We haven’t yet discussed that, but I would say that’s a possibility.”
In the meantime, Disney has already announced several new shows in development tying into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including series about Loki, Scarlet Witch and Falcon and Winter Soldier.
Disney+ will also feature the Star Wars series “The Mandalorian” and an as-yet-untitled prequel to “Rogue One”.
The news that Disney could possibly revive the cancelled Marvel shows was met with mix reception on Twitter.
