Michael Rapaport’s latest attempt at comedy is not getting a laugh out of everybody.
Rapaport tweeted a throwback photo on Wednesday of singer Ariana Grande without makeup. “Ariana Grande is 27 acts 12,” Rapaport wrote while promoting his “I Am Rapaport” podcast.
“You take off those boots she hides her legs in, the cat eye makeup and the genie pony tale and I think there are hotter women working the counter at Starbuck,” he dissed. “No disrespect to Starbucks.”
The tweet rubbed some of Rapaport’s fans the wrong way. “You know I ride for you 10/10 times, Rapaport. But why are we shaming Ariana Grande without makeup on?” user Milk Tyson tweeted. “You have a loud voice and large reach don’t let this be a moment where young girls feel they need to be in costumes or full makeup to be beautiful.”
“I’ve backed everything you’ve said, even to the hate of all the podcast followers of the network you use to work with,” the Rapaport fan continued. “I don’t turn down any smoke. I am asking why this is the move? You are top clever and funny for click bait. I wanted to know if there was more to the story.”
“When I talk viciously about The Leader of the Free World a.k.a D**k Stain Donald Trump or Tiki Torch Tough Guys in Virginia, I’m a Social Media HERO.” Rapaport argued when addressing the backlash. “But a joke about Ariana Grande is SHAMING. EAT D*cks Snowflakes.”
Rapaport then photoshopped his face on Grande’s ex-fiance Pete Davidson’s body, prompting even more response.
The 48-year-old recently apologized for making light of Davidson’s mental health. Perhaps the comedian would face less criticism if he stayed away from Grande’s life.
