Leslie Mann has tried to pass on beauty tips to her husband Judd Apatow to little success.

“The 40-Year-Old Virgin” actress says she hopes the world can make better use of her beauty advice than Apatow has. Mann, 46, opens to NewBeauty in their Winter 2018 issue about kids growing up, and the headaches caused by her loving husband.

“He is resistant to most things. He still dresses like a 14-year-old boy and refuses to stop,” Mann says of Apatow. “We were in Paris a few years ago and went into this empty restaurant, trying to get a bite to eat before the airport. We walk up, and the hostess looks Judd up and down, gives him a dirty look, and says ‘the restaurant is full’ then turned and walked away.”

“We can’t go places because of him — he is such a slob!” she adds. Mann says Apatow is not just resistant to change, he is downright clueless. “For a long time, he was using my purple shampoo for blonds and I don’t think he knew that it was toning his hair into a nice lavender hue!” exclaims Mann.

Mann and Apatow share two children: Maude, 21, and Iris, 16. Mann admits it is hard to watch her children grow up. Maude going “away to college” was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

“I think I cried for four years before she went, and then the week that we brought her to Chicago to set up her dorm room and everything, I had no control over my tears and my sadness,” she confesses. “It was just the saddest time ever. Then she came home a year and a half later.”

Fortunately, Maude is back home, although she occasionally spends time with her boyfriend in London.

Mann reunites with Steve Carell for a third collaboration, this time in Robert Zemeckis’ new drama “Welcome to Marwen”. The film premieres on Friday and who better to pitch it than Mann?

“I love that movie. When I finally saw it finished, I was blown away,” she says. “I love it and I am super happy to be a part of it. Robert Zemeckis is so creative. I want to live inside his brain.”
