“Vox Lux” star Natalie Portman is reflecting on the past year and taking a stand as a champion of the Time’s Up and #MeToo movements.

“It’s been really incredible to get to be among many of thousands of women in our industry and other industries who want to… change a culture of abuse of power,” she tells Buzzfeed’s “AM To DM” in a new interview. “I think the next steps are legal and policy changes. As you see, Harvey Weinstein is about to not even have a case against him. And that’s in big part because of a lot of laws that don’t make a lot of sense.”

The Oscar-winning actress was one of the first major stars to throw support behind the movements and speak out against an imbalance of opportunity for women in the workplace and beyond.

“There’s a lot of unconscious and conscious bias against women in the workplace… your value as a human being is different,” she continues. “And also, just the laws and governing around abuse.”

During the interview, the 37-year-old actress addressed rumours that she’ll return to the “Star Wars” universe to reprise her role as Padme Amidala in next year’s “Episode IX”.

“I had no idea about that! I’m guessing that’s not true, because I don’t know about it yet,” she responds.

For now, Portman is focused on her most-recent film, “Vox Lux” which sees her get to work with her choreographer-husband Benjamin Millepied once again.

“It’s really lucky to be able to work with someone who knows your strengths and weaknesses and can maneuver around them,” she says of Millepied. The two met during the production of “Black Swan” in 2010. “It was also very convenient of course with the home rehearsals. We actually have a studio at home which is so lucky.”
