Anne Hathaway has had her share of big-screen hits, but the movie that put her on the Hollywood map is 2001’s The Princess Diaries, and legendary director Garry Marshall says the Les Mis Oscar-winner be returning to star in a third entry in the franchise.

In an interview with People, Marshall (who also helmed such films as Pretty Woman and Beaches) revealed he’s been in touch with Hathaway, and she’s ready to sign on to The Princess Diaries 3.

“I was with Anne Hathaway a couple weeks ago, it looks like we want to do Princess Diaries 3 in Manhattan,”; says Marshall, adding one caveat. “Anne Hathaway is very pregnant, so we have to wait until she has the baby and then I think we’re going to do it.”;

Hathaway and hubby Adam Shulman are expecting their first child, with her due date estimated to some time around June, so don’t expect to see the sequel anytime soon. Still, with the first one grossing US$165 million and the sequel, The Princess Diairies 2, raking in US$134 mil, a third instalment is kind of a no-brainer.
