Dave Grohl has been known to invite his 12-year-old daughter Violet onstage to sing with him, but it appears that he’s not the only member of Foo Fighters to boast talented offspring.
On Saturday, Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins was performing at a Los Angeles benefit concert with his side project, Chevy Metal, when he invited his son Oliver onstage to take over on drums.
The 11-year-old proved to be a chip off the old rock when he sat in for a cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Miss You”, from the band’s acclaimed 1978 album “Some Girls”.
Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl was in attendance for the show, to benefit the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, and hopped onstage to join in.
While Hawkins’ son only performed the one song, Grohl stuck around for a few more, including covers of Thin Lizzy’s “Jailbreak” and Black Sabbath’s “The Wizard”.
