Footage unearthed by the Daily Mail shows a 17-year-old Meghan Markle singing her heart out at a high school Christmas show.
The future Duchess of Sussex hams it up on stage at the December 1998 Immaculate Heart High School Christmas show in Los Angeles, wearing a Santa hat and lip-syncing the words to ‘Santa Baby’ as she comically asks Father Christmas for a yacht, convertible and a ring.
Performing the song as a duet with then-fellow student Natalie Fryman, who also became an actress, the pair wowed the crowd at the Christmas Liturgy Show.
Before the performance, Markle, who was in her senior year, can be seen holding candles with “Silent Night” playing in the background, then hugging her friends.
Now the 37-year-old mother-to-be will be enjoying Christmas with the Queen at Sandringham after a whirlwind year that included her wedding to Prince Harry and the announcement the couple are expecting their first child this spring.
The couple will arrive on Christmas Eve, when the Royal Family with exchange gifts laid out on tables to be opened on Christmas Day. Princess Charlotte, Prince George, and other young members are allowed to finish decorating the Queen’s tree before the adults sit down for a black-tie dinner.
The only family member not in attendance — Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland — will be spending time with the couple privately over the holidays.
All eyes will be on the couple this year as they walk to church with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on Christmas Day after rumours the fab four are going through a difficult period in their relationship.
