Jordan Peele’s follow-up to the smash hit “Get Out” looks even more terrifying that anyone could imagine.
The first trailer for “Us” arrived Christmas morning and gives fans their first look at when the new horror master has in store.
The film stars Lupita Nyong’o and “Black Panther” co-star Winston Duke as the parents of a family on vacation being haunted by creepy doppelgangers.
“Very important for me was to have a black family at the centre of a horror film,” Peele said of the new film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “But it’s also important to note, unlike ‘Get Out’, ‘Us’ is not about race. It is instead about something that I feel has become an undeniable truth. And that is the simple fact that we are our own worst enemies.”
The director added, “I dedicated a lot of myself to create a new horror mythology and a new monster. I think that monsters and stories about monsters are one of our best ways of getting at deeper truths and facing our fears as a society.”
“Us” also stars Elisabeth Moss and Tim Heidecker and is out in theatres March 15, 2019.
