They may be part of the Royal Family but even Prince George and Princess Charlotte have their parents up at the crack of dawn on Christmas morning.
Kate Middleton spoke about her family’s festive activities as she greeted the public at St Mary Magdalene Church at Sandringham Tuesday, according to Hello! magazine.
Jill Lee from Cambridge had asked the duchess whether George, 5, and three-year-old Charlotte had been excited for Christmas: “I said to Kate, ‘Were the children up early?’ and she said, ‘Very early but it was lovely to see their faces.'”
Despite the children’s early wakeup call on December 25, Marlene Koenig, royals historian and founder of Royal Musings, told Hello!: “The British royals still follow the German tradition of opening presents on Christmas Eve.”
“The members of the family who are present at Sandringham exchange gifts, usually not expensive. The gifts are put out on a trestle table after tea time.”
