Rihanna took some time over the holidays to remember a very special fan.
The “Umbrella” singer had posted a message on Instagram Thursday telling her followers that one of her biggest supporters, a woman named Monia, who was battling cancer for a third time, passed away over Christmas.
“Most of our friendship she’s spent in a hospital or doctor’s office!” Rihanna said. “We are all heartbroken about this!!! You will never be forgotten! Love you my angel @moniasto fly in peace.”
Rihanna also posted a video, without sound, of the two embracing.
Earlier this month, Monia shared a message posted by Rihanna sending her support through such a difficult time.

Monia had also regularly updated followers on her cancer fight and treatments.
