The Super Bowl, ‘This Is Us’ And ‘Roseanne’ Top The Most Watched TV Shows Of 2018

Sports continue to dominate the TV landscape, but a few scripted shows managed to get huge ratings this year.

IndieWire shared the Neilsen data on 2018’s Most Watched Telecasts and while live sports broadcasts like the Super Bowl grabbed the most viewers, series like “Roseanne” and “This Is Us” were also among the top shows.

Super Bowl LII was far and away the ratings winner, with over 104 million total viewers. “This Is Us” was at No. 3 with their “Super Bowl Sunday” episode which aired right after the game, getting just north of 33 million viewers.

The Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies netted 29 million, while the Academy Awards got 27.4 million.

“Roseanne” was the next scripted show to make the top 10 at No. 7 with the premiere episodes of the revival getting 27.2 million viewers in March.

The sitcom made three more appearances in the top 50, while “The Big Bang Theory” had an impressive 9 episodes make the list, with its biggest audience reaching over 21 million people.
