Is it too late now to say sorry?
After Justin Bieber’s apparent shade towards Jojo Swia’s new custom car, the singer is apologizing.
Last week, the “Dance Moms” alum, 15, shared an early Christmas present – a custom BMW with her face on it – on Instagram.
But when West Coast Customs reposted Siwa’s gift, the Canadian pop star, 24, took notice and clearly did not like the paint job.
“Burn it,” Bieber commented on Instagram.
Siwa’s fans were quick to react to Bieber’s words, confused on whether he was throwing shade at her, or her new ride. The backlash prompted an apology from the “Sorry” singer.
“I have nothing against you,” he wrote to Siwa on Twitter. “It was the car and the colors I didn’t like. I really hope you didn’t think it was malicious or mean-spirited.”
Around two weeks after Bieber made the “Burn it” comment, he has now turned to joking with Siwa.
On his Instagram stories, Bieber posted a picture of JoJo’s Guide to Making Your Own Fun: # DoItYourself book with the text “Burn it” quickly followed by “Haha jk” for anyone who was ready to take it seriously.
Siwa was quick to respond with a picture of herself reading her book to a cardboard cutout of Bieber, she captioned it with ““Since @justinbieber likes my books now I thought I would read him my new one JoJo and BowBow CANDY KISSES)!!”.
